Booker T. Washington Park RenovationsBCI was hired by the City of Lakeland under a master parks consultant contract to perform renovations to Booker T. Washington Park. Enhancements included the  demolition of the existing basketball court and installation of a  series of sidewalks, a pre-manufactured gazebo with installation of brick cladding around the columns, a half basketball court, and substantial landscaping.

Deep Creek Park Improvements Print E-mail

Deep Creek Park ImprovementsThis project involved the conceptual planning, design, permitting and construction management assistance of a 22-acre regional park and recreational facility located on a tributary of the Peace River. The park serves to expand the facilities associated with the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s (SWFWMD) Delaney Creek reserve. The park includes hiking trails, picnic and educational pavilions, restrooms, a boat ramp, boat trailer and bus parking, ranger living quarters, and recreational areas.

Lake Bonny Park Boardwalk Print E-mail

Lake Bonny Park BoardwalkBCI, in coordination with Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, Inc., was hired by the City of Lakeland to design a boardwalk for Lake Bonny Park extending 500 feet along the bank and 400 feet into the water. BCI performed a topographic survey to determine location and size of necessary trees, lake bottom elevations, current water elevation, site improvements,and topographic information about the shoreline.

Master Parks Consultant - City of Lakeland Print E-mail

t-lakeland.jpgBCI has been working with the City of Lakeland's Parks and Recreation Division for nearly 20 years. In this capacity engineering support to the city is provided as needed on a variety of projects. Over the years BCI's services have included civil design, permitting, geotechnical evaluation, structural design, construction administration, and others. For most engagements BCI works hand in hand with one of the city's landscape architects such as Glatting Jackson or Hardeman Kempton.

Curtis Peterson Park Print E-mail

t-petersen.jpgCurtis Peterson Park serves as a popular recreational facility for local residents as well as a host for several annual athletic tournaments. The park is located on   previously mined phosphate land and fronts on Lake John. Park design and construction were complicated by adverse conditions;  peat depths were in excess of 60 feet and the park is the receiving point for runoff of approximately 8,000 acres. Because of soil stability conditions, a special geotextile foundation material was incorporated into the design to ensure stability for the park entrance  road and parking area.
