Dr. Bromwell to Teach Course on Everglades Restoration Print E-mail

Lakeland, FL  July 23, 2007 

 Dr. Les Bromwell of BCI Engineers & Scientists, Inc. will teach a short course entitled "Can We Save The Everglades?" at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. The class consists of four lectures covering the following topics: the history of the Everglades, man's impact on the Everglades, the current state of the Everglades, and the possibilities for the proposed restoration.  The course will run from 2:15-4:00 PM on Mondays, November 12 & 26 and December 3 & 10.  The course is open to the public, and registrations should be made through Florida Atlantic University's Lifelong Learning Center.

Dr. Bromwell is a native of south Florida, and offers unparalleled expertise in his field. In 2006 he received a commendation from the South Florida Water Management District for his work with the Emergency Operations Centers in the Lake Okeechobee area. This outreach followed extensive research and recommendations for the repair of the Herbert Hoover Dike.  He is also involved in the design of water storage reservoirs for the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Project.
