Florida's Turnpike Enterprise | Polk County, Florida | 1984 -1991
 
BCI assisted Florida's Turnpike Enterprise with the planning of a 21-mile, limited access toll facility. We developed a design plan for the western segment of the parkway project to include comprehensive surface water hydrologic modeling; geotechnical evaluations; wetlands creation and/or enhancement of existing wetlands; and the creation and/or enhancement of upland habitat systems.
We delineated wetland jurisdictional boundaries and evaluated the impacts of construction on wetland and species composition. BCI facilitated permitting and coordination with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and Polk County.
