Scope
The Plant City Industrial Park is located just south of the Plant City Airport. The City provides water and sewer services to the Industrial Park and also maintains a rail spur from the CSX Railroad located on the south side of Sydney Road. The Industrial Park was developed in the 1970s when stormwater management regulations did not exist and the drainage infrastructure construction standards were minimal.
This project involved work tasks related to both drainage and road transportation. An investigation was completed to identify the causes and potential solutions to problems experienced by occupants within the Industrial Park due to off-site surface water runoff discharging into the Industrial Park catchment area. The City of Plant City required the assistance of an engineering consultant to thoroughly access drainage conditions at the Park and recommend solutions for improvement through using a phased “Master Drainage Plan” approach.
The project scope also included the task of evaluating the roadway infrastructure to determine the necessary improvements to smooth traffic flow through the Industrial Park to include road restoration work as required. BCI provided the necessary Drainage and Roadway Master Plan.
