Forensic Engineering & Science

Forensic Engineering & Science ServicesOur team consists of specialized engineers and scientists, who understand the real-world context in which claim-events occur, and are adept at applying their analytical skills and years of experience to unravel, explain and mitigate the consequences of accidents and failures.

Our objective: to provide concise, comprehensive, and accurate reporting, leading to the expeditious processing and successful resolution of investigative assignments.

Our FES Group is led by state, nationally and internationally registered professional geologists and engineers with over 300 years combined professional experience, directing a team of 30 graduate geologists, engineers and scientists. The group is supported by experienced field technicians, scheduling and customer-service support specialists, graphics / CADD, dedicated report production and QA/QC staff.

The term “forensic” is defined as “for the court”. Unfortunately, litigation is an increasingly common component of forensic investigations, and because of this, our investigations are conducted and reported within the guidelines that best support successful litigation.

Our team of specialized engineers and scientists, apply analytical skills and years of experience to unravel and mitigate the consequences of accidents and failures that give rise to property damages and insurance claims.

AMEC-BCI’s Forensic Engineering & Science group is committed to serving as a single source for expertise in the following areas:

  • Investigation of residential & commercial property damages
  • Environmental assessment of commercial & industrial properties
  • Litigation support necessary should matters need to be resolved in court

Over the past 25 years, AMEC-BCI has completed more that 5,000 subsidence and sinkhole investigations at sites throughout Florida.

Much of this work is conducted for insurance purposes, to evaluate settlement damage to residential and commercial properties. Since 1981, insurers offering property insurance to homeowners in Florida have been required to offer coverage for damages resulting from sinkholes. Over the past five years, however, sinkhole insurance claims have increased dramatically, in certain counties by almost 400%. AMEC-BCI provides insurance companies and attorneys with an impressive resource of geologists, engineers, scientists and technicians to support the adjustment of claims for sinkhole loss and to gather robust technical evidence that can be relied upon during litigation.
