Scope
BCI was retained to perform all environmental monitoring and reporting services to support the City of Plant City's Environmental Monitoring Plan and Water Use Permit (WUP) for three years.
BCI began this project by collecting and collating existing data provided by the City including, but not limited to, historical monitoring data, photographs of wells and staff gage locations, ecological monitoring data, and calculations supporting previous permitting. The City was two years behind in it annual report submissions and needed a monitoring report submitted as soon as possible.
BCI has conducted a meeting with the City and the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) to review proposed work, has collected biological data in accordance with the SWFWMD's Wetland Assessment Procedures (WAP), and has conducted wildlife surveys. We are in the process of performing data analysis and report compilation to submit the City's annual report. The annual report will describe operations and provide an assessment of water resources and environmental systems including the following:
-
Water use changes including map boundaries and text
-
Hydrological and environmental conditions including statistical trend analysis for pumping, rainfall, movement of fresh/saltwater interface, surficial aquifer water levels, lake levels, stream discharge, and wetlands vegetation (tree falls, vegetation succession, soil subsidence, etc.)
-
Investigation of complaints to include number and type of complaints and mitigation activities and associated costs
-
Environmental mitigation needs and actions
-
Status of well construction and facilities
