BCI Engineers and Scientists

BCI was hired by Rodda Construction to provide professional civil design and permitting services for the development of a new 60,000-square-foot Fun Bike Center. The Fun Bike Center houses a large inventory of motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, personal watercrafts, and utility vehicles from Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia and Schwinn. A larger building was constructed to support a cell phone kiosk, a men and women’s apparel store, a stage area for concerts, a community room with a wall-size, flat-screen TV and kitchen, a telemarketing center, a video arcade and a florist.

BCI performed the following tasks:

• Planning & Pre-Application Meetings
• Design, Plans & Reports Preparation
• Regulatory Permitting
• Meetings, Coordination & Project Management
  
  

Permitting efforts were heavy for this project and included

• Environmental resource permitting through the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD)
• Site plan & site construction applications through the City of Lakeland
• Permitting with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)
• Driveway and drainage connection permits & utility permit through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
• National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) construction permit
