Job Description Perform basic design tasks and assist with other tasks such as preparation of permit applications, material testing, drawings, and CAD work. Consult with insurance adjusters, attorneys, contractors and building owners on various litigations, claims, damage evaluations and/or remediation. Types of assignments include determining the cause of loss, extent and nature of damage, evaluating code issues and providing structural or architectural repair recommendations. These cases may include fires, floods, snow, wind, seismic, vehicle impact, construction defects and others. May perform structural calculations, draft structural drawings, construction observation and/or type letters/reports.
Qualifications Qualifications required:

•Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; degree emphasis in structural engineering is preferred
•0 -1+ years experience
•Registered Engineering Intern
•Ability to obtain ICC Residential Building Inspector Certification within one year and ability to obtain ICC Residential (Building) Plans Examiner Certification within two years
•Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and AutoCAD
•Must have effective oral and written communication skills to interact with staff, general public, officials, and contractors
•Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
•Must have the ability to climb a ladder and maneuver in and on buildings and other structures
•Occasionally work in outside weather conditions that are hot, cold and/or wet and occasionally exposed to hazardous plants, insects, reptiles, and other animals
•Up to 75% travel (primarily day-trips).
